Networking
Business networking is an excellent way for business people to get to know each other. Networking is all about developing mutually beneficial opportunities both directly and through referrals. It is one of the most cost effective ways of developing business relationships and generating new business.
But, to network effectively requires a bit of practice so Meg Heyworth of Speed Networking is running a set of workshops throughout the day to introduce you to some tried and tested techniques.
Starting from novice level this is your chance to learn from the expert and try out your new skills with the exhibitors and other exhibition visitors.
The day starts with 'Networking without Mooching' and ends with a FREE Speed Networking session.
10:00am to 11:00am Networking Without Mooching
Starting even before the exhibition opens, this workshop covers the art of moving through an exhibition and communicating with the people you want to meet. A great way to start the day and learn some networking tips ready to try out.
For exhibitors it can also be the art of capturing the people you want to come to your stand!
Covered in detail will be the Top 5 Networking Tips for getting the most out of the exhibition.
This workshop is open to all and you can dip in and out as the mood takes you. No pre-booking required.
11:30am to 12:30pm Meet the Exhibitors
Using the tips learnt from 'Networking without Mooching' go round the exhibition with a buddy in order to practice and refine what you have learnt. Meg will be on hand to make introductions.
1:00pm to 2:00pm Munch
A 'munch' is a casual lunch with people who have common interests. It encourages networking between mouthfuls by making sure that the next person to speak has finished what they are eating before they speak.
This workshop will give you tips and information about making the most of your speaking 'slot' to get your message across, building rapport, and how to politely move on from the person you are talking to.
Booking on the day is essential for this FREE networking session, and is limited to 30 people so, first come first served!
2.30pm to 4.30pm FREE Speed Networking Session
All those who attend are guaranteed to meet everyone in the room and have time to give them the unique selling points (USPs) of their business.
People are arranged seated at tables facing each other. A whistle blows and a three minute networking session begins.
One person begins by talking about whom they are, what they do, and what they are looking for. Then it is the other person’s turn to do the same. The conversation can then turn to exploring any potential business opportunities between you.
The whistle blows again when the three minutes has passed, one person remains seated while the other moves one place up the row and a new three minute meeting begins.
